Biography
Prior to joining Air Liquide, Ilyong Park worked three years with a Korean heavy industry company. He
began his career with the Air Liquide group in 2001 as e-Business Manager for Air Liquide America in Houston,
Texas.
From 2003 to 2009, based in Seoul, he was Director of the Industrial Merchant business unit for Air Liquide
Korea and contributed to the company as part of the local leadership team.
From 2009 to 2011, based in Tokyo, as Charge de Mission to Vice President of Asia Pacific, he was responsible
for various special projects including M&As for Asia Pacific.
From 2011 to 2014, based in Manila, he was President & CEO of Air Liquide Philippines. In mid 2014 he moved
to Air Liquide Korea as Vice President of the Large Industries business unit serving Chemical, Oil & Gas, and
Metal industry.
From 2015 to 2019, based in Seoul, he was President and Representative Director of Air Liquide Korea, leading
industrial and healthcare activities of the country.
Ilyong Park, based in Tokyo, has held the position of Vice President of Northeast Asia Pacific Cluster,
supervising the gas and services affiliates in Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, since January
2020 and is serving as a Chairman of Board in major affiliates of the Cluster, including Japan.
On September 1st 2023, he will be appointed Chairman and CEO, Air Liquide Japan.
Ilyong holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, and a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace
Engineering from Seoul National University. He also attended various executive management programs
including INSEAD and London Business School.
